From linen days to layered evenings

A little more structure.
Still recognizably Weston.

Weston already has a place in our wardrobe. The pieces we’ve bought and worn are the reason we keep looking: fitted tees, linen pants and cardigans that make a simple outfit feel considered. Fall brings a different question. What happens when that same approach moves into a blazer?

The Atticus is where we’re starting. Around it, four pieces from Weston’s current Fall/Winter collection caught our eye: a chevron polo, an earthy crew neck, an Oat cardigan and a dark denim jacket. These are different ways to dress for the season. The Atticus gets the first try-on.

The detail that caught us

A hood you can take out.

Weston describes the zip-in hood as a partial layer, or “dickie.” It gives the blazer that layered look without a whole sweatshirt underneath. We want to see how the front sits with it attached—and how cleanly the jacket stands on its own once it’s removed.

Four more ways
to change the layer.

A collar, a crew neck, a cardigan or denim. The choice starts with the evening you’re dressing for.

AlastairPalomino

70% recycled polyester · 30% modal

For the evening that needs a collar but doesn’t need a jacket. The Palomino color and chevron texture caught our eye together; we’d keep the trousers simple and let the knit do the work.

Vertical chevron knit. Ribbed collar and hems.

The quiet crewRipley Crew Neck Cotton & Cashmere Sweater SLIM - Dark Earth, official garment photograph with background removedDark Earth

RipleyDark Earth

95% cotton · 5% cashmere

The least complicated route into this edit: an earthy crew neck with texture you notice up close. Cotton does most of the work here, with a small cashmere component. The appeal is an easy shape that leaves room for the rest of the outfit.

Honeycomb texture. Raglan construction.

The familiar layerHemingway Lightweight Slim Fit Cardigan - Oat, official garment photograph with background removedOat

HemingwayOat

55% cotton · 45% polyester

Weston cardigans already have a place in JC’s rotation. This Oat version is the lightest visual note in the selection, and the shawl collar gives a plain tee a more considered finish. It’s the direction we’d look when the blazer feels like too much.

Continuous shawl collar. Two front pockets.

The Oat listing showed final sale, no refunds and store credit only when checked October 15. Read the current product-specific terms before ordering.

The casual outer layerLeucadian Slim Fit Sherpa Denim Jacket - Shadow, official garment photograph with background removedShadow

LeucadianShadow

Shell: 98% cotton · 2% spandex

The denim alternative to the Atticus. Shadow keeps the palette dark, while the lining gives us a useful construction detail to inspect. We’d want to check arm room over a knit before deciding how well it handles layering.

Sherpa-lined body. Satin-lined sleeves.

The excitement is real.
The verdict comes later.

Our history with Weston explains the interest. The Atticus still has to earn its place. Here’s what we want our first photos and fit notes to show.

    Shoulders, sleeves, movement.

Front, side and seated views. We want to see how the medium sits, buttons and moves over a plain tee.

  2. 02

    Hood in. Hood out.

The same outfit and lighting, with both versions photographed so the change is easy to judge.

  3. 03

    Room for a light knit.

Check the arms and chest with one more layer, then report where the fit works and where it pulls.
